With a background in Radio, I was often picked on by family and friends to MC weddings. Five years ago, at the end of the night a (very) drunk Uncle came up to tell me he reckoned I should be a Celebrant. And I thought, “You know what? That would be rad.” So I got myself registered up and have been hitching Christchurch couples ever since.

I genuinely want to help you put together a ceremony that represents you as a couple and enjoy the process along the way. I love telling your story and will always encourage you to write your own vows, and if that means taking your Groom for a pint to get something out of him, then so be it! 

I’ve had shots with a Bride before she took to the aisle, I’ve had “Flower Grannies” and “Flower Men” leading the procession, I’ve seen the Groom lose his nerve singing his girl up and joined in with the Best man and Groomsman to support him signing “Hooked on a Feeling” Acapella. I’ve had a Bride and Groom bust back down the aisle on his motorbike, a Groom bought his late Grandfather’s pen to sign the licence with and a Bride even bought her Father’s ashes.

However you want to do this, I’ll be cheering you on the whole way and I’m not scared to throw new ideas at you too. It’s your ceremony, the beginning of your marriage, and I want to help you to own it. The best feedback I can get is when your friends and fam think we’re friends or fam too because we’re so comfy together and have a bloody great time!
