Planning Project - Marquees, Styling and Everything Inbetween

And another one bites the dust! I swear, each Planning Project wedding planning workshop just keeps getting better as we inspire and empower couples to progress with planning their best day ever - Their dream New Zealand Wedding.

Through Planning Project, set out to make not just a Christchurch Wedding Planner, or a Canterbury Wedding Planner accessible - but a planner available wherever you are. Planning Project really is just as we say; it’s for everyone. Planning Project content has been specifically designed to be applicable to you, wherever your New Zealand Wedding may be.

Lapping up the urban oasis that is The Welder Events Space, guests arrived and instantly swooned over the stunningly modern and oh so glamourous styled table brought to life by Blank Space Events, paired with a custom stationery suite of the sweetest muted tones from Paperweight Design, of which above hung a series of gorgeous feature lighting, rigged up by Insight Audio Visual. We kicked off our workshop with the basics, the ‘what, where, who and when’ and as we progressed, got to business imparting all of our knowledge onto our audience. Our first half was dedicated to sharing how couples could create their perfect marquee wedding in conjunction with Event Hire’s founder, Phil, ensuring they thought of everything from permits & wet weather plans to lighting & loos. We showed our couples just how they could think outside the box and step outside the cookie-cutter mould of a traditional wedding by asking a range of questions aligned with the things they love most within their lives and lifestyles.

Half time saw us sip and graze on drool-worthy eats from The Welder away to the jazzy sound of The Curio Club. Lucy and the band take modern music numbers and turn them into jazz music - It’s truly impressive and a wonderful option if you are hosting a smaller, more intimate gathering or a classy dinner event. Couples mixed, mingled and asked us a whole flurry of questions that gave us the opportunity to provide specific, tailored advice and suggestions - An opportunity we had again in the final minutes of the workshop experience.

The second half was packed with a more light-hearted topic. Lead by Sophie of Blank Space Events we had the most amazing conversation filled with tips and tricks around developing your styling concept and bringing that dream to life. We were lucky enough to then hear from our last guest speaker, Lucy, of The Curio Club who shared with us many things to consider when deciding whether to have a band, a DJ or a Playlist feature as your wedding entertainment.

Whatever stage our couples left at, they departed Planning Project empowered to pursue their next steps. Whether that was knowing what to look for when searching and viewing Canterbury Wedding Venues, working out their budget and priorities, learning how to go through the marquee and styling process effectively and efficiently or simply uncovering what, when they close their eyes and truly feel, their dream New Zealand Wedding looks like, our take-home resources and wedding planning folder now act as a bible to keep them on track and help refocus during times of overwhelm.
