Audio Visual services and your wedding day

Everything you need to know about Audio Visual services, and why you might need them on your wedding day

With so many moving parts needed to bring a wedding day together, it’s sometimes hard to know exactly what you need until it’s glaringly obvious at the absolute 11th hour that you’ve missed a vital product or service.

Here at Christchurch Weddings, we want to make things simple for you, to turn what can be a stressful process into the easiest, most enjoyable planning ride - So good you’ll want to do it all over again and not just the day itself!

We’re preparing you with all the ammo you need to make the best calls for your day well in advance and today I’ve teamed up with Steve from Insight Audio Visual to outline for us all what the role of a guy like him is, and how audio and visual might be needed on your wedding day.

The sound, not just of music

Sound is easily absorbed when you throw elements like an open location, a huge number of guests or massive space so a super speaker and mic set up are always a hit. Make sure the sound for your Vows, readings, I do’s and speeches are clear and loud enough so all of your guests can tune in and feel a true part of your day. After the formalities are done, make sure that the dance floor goes off with a good sound system!

Let there be light(ing)

Lighting is such an underrated feature of any wedding and event, and can seriously pack some punch setting the tone for the evening! Community halls are often dark and dingy and can be a photographer’s worst nightmare if extra lighting isn’t implemented and semi-permanent venues like marquees need light. Want to see where you’re headed to the loo when the stars come out? Floodlighting is key! Epic mood lighting so you can get cosy in the lounging area, or dance the night away in style is always a huge win in the styling department and can make a massive impact on the overall feel of a space. Not only that, but Steve will make sure that based on your lighting plan, you’re not overloading the generator or the mains power and causing a sticky situation.

I can see clearly now

Do you have a huge venue, a special family spot, but a mammoth guest list? Instead of cramming everyone in together, place your seating as normal (or outside if your space allows) and Steve can bring in the big screens so everyone can see you, even from a distance and get the full experience and feeling around what’s happening up the front. Video Telegrams? Steve can hook you up with all of that too!

Live Stream

I can’t even begin to imagine how popular this service is going to become over the coming months. If you have guests that cannot make it to your wedding due to travel restrictions, old age, sickness or for any given reason, Steve will get you sorted with a live stream so that they can still watch it and be a part of the magic.

Hang Man

Have peace of mind that frames for hanging floral arrangements and lighting are safely rigged by an expert. Bring your dream floral arrangement vision to life by hanging them over your head table, bar or dance floor to take your wedding to another level. These types of ‘hero’ pieces can pack a massive punch, especially if you have a venue with a higher ceiling and want to make things a little more intimate. There is even the possibility of including lighting in your hanging floral arrangement, such as fairy and dropping pendant lights to bring it to life.

Stage Presence

Staging can be used to elevate the head table so even the guest at the back can see the bridal party which is perfect for occasions with larger numbers. You could also make a feature of the band or DJ, raising them up from the dance floor and eliminating some of those ‘Wagon Wheel’ requests!
